ABOUT MATIPUNG B.K.S.S. LTD.
Matipung Boa Kata Samabai Samiti Ltd. was registered as a cooperative society in the year 2000. Since inception, the society is involved in the sphere of imparting training to rural tribal women of Karbi Anglong district. The trainings provided so far has been in the craft areas of Dry Flower making, Pot Making, Doll Making and also beautician training has been imparted.
Apart from imparting training to artisans, a number of societies have also been formed under the aegis of Matipung Boa Kata Samabai Samiti Ltd. and awareness camps have been organized for these societies. For the benefit of these hand woven tribal artistic textiles and handicrafts producing societies and for promoting sales, the society has been participating in various exhibitions and trade events across the region and the country. Ethnic textiles, jewelry and lifestyle based shows have also been organized in various points of time for promotion of Karbi Anglong’s rich and exquisite textiles crafts.
OUR WORK
DESIGN & SKILL DEVELOPMENT
With the assistance of renowned designers and skilled artisans, Matipung BKSS Ltd. has created new prototypes of a variety of tribal artistic textile items over the years. By combining them with contemporary methods and creative perspectives, the society has also revitalised numerous Karbi tribal traditional designs that were lost throughout time.
SUPPORT TO CRAFTSPERSONS
By offering them skill development training in traditional creative textile-based crafts under the guidance of renowned trainers and designers, Matipung BKSS Ltd. has been giving tribal artists in Karbi Anglong the best possible support. Modern tools and accessories have also been made available to many of those artisans to boost output, and preserve consistency.
CRAFT MARKET PROMOTION ACTIVITY
In order to draw customers, the society has been holding a variety of handicrafts market promotion events on a regular basis, including fairs, exhibitions, crafts bazaars, and live demonstration programs. In order to help Karbi craftsmen financially, the society has also been taking part in a number of comparable market promotion initiatives throughout the country.
RESEARCH & DOCUMENTATION
Matipung BKSS Ltd. has been researching, documenting, and preserving various traditional artifacts of Karbi Anglong with the goals of preserving the Karbi tribe's traditional craft practices, revitalising, popularising, and promoting these designs among the younger generation, and facilitating the process of creative amalgamation through the blending of old and new designs and patterns. A crafts museum has been established at Diphu.

Through various programs, exhibits, performances and workshops, the society seeks to provide a unique platform to artisans, weavers and art enthusiasts a chance to experience and celebrate Karbi tribe’s unique culture and crafts practices.
Matipung Boa Kata Samabai Samiti Ltd. wishes to present itself as the single passport to the traditional and cultural ethnicity of Karbi Anglong. The various efforts and initiatives of Matipung Boa Kata Samabai Samiti Ltd. would be an essential resource for the greater Karbi community and beyond.
WHAT WE DO
Matipung Boa Kata Samabai Samiti Ltd. is primarlly involved in the following activities: -

Training, handholding and other technical support to weavers and artisans

Conducting sales promotional activities and buying & selling events across the country for handloom and handicrafts of Karbi Anglong
